When Steve Jobs announced the upcoming iPhone last January, Technorati recorded more than 20 000 posts per days in blogs. The news was spread around the world in only a few hours.
The media coverage was so strong that customer awareness is a lot stronger than most mobile phone on the market. All that for a product not even released.
But talking about the iPhone these days is even considered boring. People are fed-up of the iPhone and they did not even touch it yet.
Look at the chart above, it shows that the number of posts related to the iPhone is slowly getting down day after day. There was an average of 1000 posts per day a month ago and we are now at around 500 per day. This is a 50% drop for the iPhone. Two months ago the daily posting about the iPhone was 2000 posts. A 75% drop since then.
Apple does absolutely nothing to entertain the hype at this point. They just let the Internet do the job itself. But if this worked in the past for most of Apple’s product, a 6 month lead time for the iPhone may just be too long.

I the iphone will get the next blog boost then it is released and the people write about the nice and the bad things they found out. I think that is normal. This is how it works with every new product.

i think that it is stupid to release the iphone in late june!! ive been waiting for the iphone for a few months and i want it now!! i have been thining and i might not be able to wait until late june to get it, as well as a couple f my friends..please change the release date soo i can get an iphone..otherwise i will have to suffer and buy a different phone.
