ITunes 7.2 has been released by Apple this morning. iTunes’ new version brings us DRM-free songs via iTunes Plus.

The launch of iTunes Plus will offer all EMI tracks as either DRM or DRM-free. The tracks have different qualities and prices as well. The DRM-free songs are 256 kbps AAC files and have a cost $1.29 per song. The good news is if you bought songs from the EMI catalog in the past, you can upgrade them to get the higher quality DRM free version by paying the $0.30 difference or $3.00 for the a complete album.

Of course, the existing 128 kbps DRM version will also still be available for the regular $0.99, giving you the choice at the time of purchase.

Paul McCartney’s catalog has also been released today.

We still have few more weeks to wait before we can sync this DRM-Free music with the iPhone though.
