I totally agree with this reason to buy an iPhone. I mean I hate to listen to that lady that goes “You have 3 unheard messages……3 messages have not been heard…….first unheard message.” It’s like get it over with or I might fall asleep at the phone. Visual voice mail is just plain genius.

Agree. Visual Voicemail finally gives you the freedom of listening to your voicemail without a clunky, time-consuming, user-unfriendly prompt system that you can only hear but can’t see or touch. I usually check my normal voicemail less than once a day because I can’t stand the system so much. Go iPhone!

At my store, if the crowds get to over baring, we are only going to allow 10 customers in at a time.
This launch is the largest cell phone launch to date.
And honesly, we dont get to play with the iPhone until 2 days prior to launch. We’ve been trained, but still no hands on. Cant wait!!!

My number one reason…
It’s made by Apple.
I know, I know… this sounds like typical Apple fanboy blather, but hear me out. For all the great features on the device, it’s the user interface (UI) that wins me over. Other phone manufacturers have devices with big-time features, and they’ll no-doubt find a way of incorporating the best from the iPhone. I have no doubt visual voicemail and the Youtube player will be copied. But NOBODY does UI like Apple. I have a smartphone running Windows Mobile, and I’ve owned about every kind of phone and PDA made to date. The UI of the iPhone absolutely blows me away. It’s not even close to anything else out there, and I think that’s what will continue to separate the iPhone from the competition over the next several years.

This is one that has been so underplayed, yet so functional. So most cell phones nowadays have cameras built in, but none like the iPhone. It is a 2 mega-pixel camera with all of the sorting and editing functionality as any apple computer. Talk about genius.
You’re out with a group of friends, you don’t have a camera. oh wait, yes you do! Not a camera phone, but a true camera. Take a great group shot. Immediately you can remove adjust it and send out copies to each and every person in the picture with the e-mail feature. Apple never ceases to amaze.
You can do the same with your pictures from your computer. You don’t have to worry about going out and buying an extra cable, because Apple makes it easy. forgot a shot of the kids in your wallet? No worries, just whip out the iPhone and view any picture you’d like on the gorgeous 3.5″ screen!!!

I agree that visual VM will be a nice feature. I often save funny/interesting voicemails for long period of time, and it’s a pain every 21 days to have to resave them when I’m trying to only get to my new messages. I forgot that the phone has this feature every once in a while, but I think it will be really useful in the long run.

The number 4 reason why you should buy the iphone is because of the touch keyboard. If you screw up on any word by tapping the wrong key, it automatically knows what you meant to say, much better than any t9 keyboard because this one is capactic. On top of that, the best part is that the keyboard is upgradeable, due to the fact that with a simple upgrade, you can make the keyboard landscape, or if people don’t like the layout, you can easily send an update through itunes to make the board more user friendly. Imagine RIM coming to your home to fix that crappy blackberry 7100 keyboard in the middle of the night… yea i know it aint happenin either. The keyboard is going to make or break this phone, and due to the fact that is upgradeable, unlike your treo’s or blackberry’s, which is usually cramped and doesnt have good corrective software.

Ok tuchscreen is good but how much time the company gives guarantee that that screen will hold on normally functioning? And also could a problem if you have sweat hands and of course sweat fingers imagine yourself watching o video with sweat on your screen! Not practical

The #1 Reason to Purchase the iPhone on June 29 is:
One can look forward to a level of post-purchase euphoria, which for Mac users has historically been reserved for the few and far between times when one can afford the newest form of Apple laptop computer. The inherent euphoria of carrying around instant, unfettered, and for once (actually viable) internet access on your mobile phone would be sufficient as to contitute reason enoguh! However, this conjoined with the sheer joy one experiences from being able to say, “hey, look what I just got!” is undoubtedly more than adequate to ensure that all the iphone units from the first shipment on June 29th will be sold by midnight June 30th. Good luck with the upcoming scramble everybody!

Well I have been reluctant to purchase a cell phone for quit some time now. I love technology but I despise cell phones. The moment I saw the iPhone it gave me a reason to purchase a smart phone. It is pretty much a pocket laptop short of a mouse. I love what you can do with it. Also, I don’t see the iPhone as just another cell phone that is better off being used as a paper weight or maybe an inanimate object that deserves to be at curse with death threats. No, it looks as though it actually could be a friendly and usable device that doesn’t waste my pocket space.

Something that should have been created a long time ago. Not only does the Iphone, and ultimately apple, better user experience by creating new and easier ways to access and use their products, but they are able to make both software and hardware sleek, and desireable. Because of the new visual voicemail combined with its “swipe to erase”, Iphone has pushed its level to a completely different level.

I have a few questions about the Iphone. it better be worth the $1940 for two years, $60 a month for 2 years and $500 for the device.
If I am not mistaken doesn’t the Iphone use the EDGE network?
The phone has 8 gig memory right? the Ipods have up to 60 gig on some models, 8 gig for vieo files, does not seem like much?
Does it have a memory card slot?
Speaking about video, does it record video? Or just still photos?
Does it have a voice recorder?
If you have music, can you make your music a ringer?
Do you have to have an Itunes account to download music online?
Is it true you cannot cut and paste text?
It uses Adobe flash right? Is there any support for this?
Is there any third party software that works with the Iphone?
Is it true that it only reads PDF,Word, and excel files, but will not be able to edit them?
How is the GPS, Built in maps or network reliant? Is it reliant on the EDGE typr network?
This device seems incredibly proprietary, almost microsoft like, too bad really. All that technology and Apple has choosen to listen to ….well you get the picture.

One reason that would apply to everyone who buys an iPhone is the affordability and universality of the plans that go along with it. How can you beat a plan that offers unlimited data and web starting at $59.99? I pay a whole lot more than that at my current carrier

Okay, though $500 seems a tad expensive. Its worth it. Most cell phones and pocket PCs I see today are really pretty bad. But I knew apple would change this. And I am not a big apple fan, though I like their products. I was waiting for a cellphone, but not just any cellphone, but a cellphone made by apple. And now its here. Thank you Steve jobs. This is better than I expected. But main reason to buy iPhone. It revolutionizes phone. Not only that, but also email, photos, videos, music, internet, ITS A REVOLUTION ITS SELF! VIVA LA IPHONE!

I live in India and I am really surprised to see all the uproar about the iPhone in the US!! I mean I know that Europe and Asia have been far ahead in PDA and cell phone technology but c’mon! Have you guys used an HTC phone with Windows Mobile? It has almost all the features of the iPhone (except the iPod) and much more! A touchscreen has been there forever! What about MS Office, Outlook Express and instant messaging? I can sync with Outlook too… Please tell me the power of marketing is not that great! And if it is… What the hell is Bill Gates doing?!

You iHeads are nuts. I’ve got all this stuff on my Motorolla Q and I only paid $79. No touch screen but of course they did that on purpose. Touch screens suck. No slow Edge either, instead I’ve got lightening fast EV-DO. No suckie AT&T service either. And I get to sync everything with Outlook and Gmail. Grow up people, you’re being lead like sheep.

I think a reason to buy a iphone is how you can surf the web instantly, in my phone i have to wait more than half an hour. Iphones are slick and you just want to hold it every day. We need an Iphone because it is not only about music, it is an all-around gadget that everyone must have. What I love about Iphone is that we can call other people while browsing the internet. I love browsing the net and I love talking to my friends as well.
