Now that we know iPhone very well from the outside, it would be interesting to know more on the components that makes the device so desirable. The above video explains how iPhone is built and what the major components are.

You will learn that iPhone’s touchscreen is manufactured by Balda, a German company that sells its products to other companies like Nokia, Motorola and Sony-Ericsson.

Bluetooth chip is the Bluecore 4 ROM made by Cambridge.

Samsung provides the iPhone’s CPU. The 8Gb Flash Nand chip is also a Samsung product and Intel Flash memory chip is used for code execution.

Just like the iPod Video, iPhone has a Wolfson codec chip. The GSM-EDGE power amplifier is from Skyworks Solutions.

Marvel, Broadcom and Philips also provide components for the iPhone.
