iPhone Case: iSkin Revo Review

iPhone Case: iSkin Revo Review

I recently got my hands on the new iSkin Revo, from iSkin. This is a company that has long been making cases and other accessories for the the iPod, and another gadgets galore. Though this is the first cases">case from iSkin for the iPhone. The iPhone is still new and most cases right now are a version 1.0 as is the iPhone. Finding the perfect case may be difficult, but the Revo comes in close with a great 1.0 case, and I’m sure will only get better with the next version or others to follow.

First off the Revo comes with the case, a hard plastic visor, small rubber cover for the base connection of the iPhone, and a privacy screen. Also the Revo comes with a privacy screen to install, As well a hidden flip up 3.5m hold for your headset The Revo is also made with an embedded antimicrobial protection so to help not keep germs, after everyone with dirty hands touches your beautiful Iphone.

Product Quality 8.5

Since purchasing the iSkin it’s all I have used on my iPhone. The case
is solid and is comfortable in my hand, and does not make the iPhone
HUGE. Still slides with ease into my pocket. I don’t ever feel like I
will drop my iPhone because of the grip the Revo gives you on the
sides. It can get a little greasy sometime, and for this I actually
just do a good soap washing of the case and it’s like brand new

Slipping the Revo case on the iPhone is very simple, and form fits
very nice. Though for some reason it is sort of hard to switch the
ringer on and off. I think the hole should have been a little bigger. I
don’t design cases, but I don’t understand Revo’s decision to stick a
little rubber cover for the iPhone prong connection. There is only one
and I swear I will lose it soon. Revo should have sent extras of
these. This piece should
have been connected somehow so as to remove it and then put it back.
The plastic clear visor which covers the screen is a good idea, but
again this is just a flip off, at which you can take it off and put
this on the reverse side of the Revo’s case. This would have gotten a
higher score if Iskin made the rubber prong connector, actually
connected to Revo.

Player Protection 9.0

The case itself is very nice to handle, and you still have full view
of the screen. As well the phone’s reception works the same, with the
case on and off. I did a little test to see if the bars disappeared on
the iPhone in certain areas and they did not. The one piece that I did
not put is the privacy stick on to the screen. I am currently using,
the InvisibleShield (www.shieldzone.com) and this protects more than
just a privacy screen stick on. For some this may be good if you are a
frequent flyer or take the train to work and don’t want any viewers
hanging on your shoulder.

For most I think this case will work well. Slowly but surely there
are going to be more cases for the iPhone. Though iSkin is a very
reputable name in the game of covers, and have been for a while. Even
though this is a first version. I would give it a buy, because it is
very durable, great colors, and extra hard visor screen to protect that
beautiful iPhone screen. If this is just version 1.0 for the Revo, I
really can’t wait to see what iSkin will come up with for there second
version. As of right now I am still currently using this case, and have
not found something better or more secure for my iPhone. Spend the
extra money for iskin Revo, you won’t be disappointed and your iPhone
will thank you.

Pros: Good Quality strong material, interesting colors, good protection, easy to take the iPhone in and out

Cons: Little pricey, Prong plastic not connected(Might lose this),
May have to clean once a week or so. Ringer hole could have been
bigger.

Did you get the whole body shield for your iphone or just the front face shield?

  2. Brian Says:

I actually did get the whole body shield, but I only use the front part to cover the screen. The iSkin case which I still use covers everything else. Hope this helps

Did you actually leave your phone off for 24hrs or does it really matter? I just got mine today and was curious.

  4. brian J. Noe Says:

No I did not just left it alone for a bit and it was fine. I get too many calls to leave the phone alone. Just use your apple headset and don’t touch the phone much, or use a bluetooth headset.

How does the ‘memory’ of the skin work? Does it stretch at all? Get loose? Please update.

I’ve been using the iskin since before the review. I have yet to find a better case. Possibly otterbox when their case comes out. I’d also look at Vaja, but I do not have a sample of there case. It’s a good investment and you will have the iSkin for a very long time if you do invest.

I positively love this product! It is durable, covers the phone very well, and does not limit any functions of the phone. If you are an active person and use phone frequently, this is the case for you.

Hello I just bought a REVO case for the iPhone. I like it but do they make a belt clip for it? I dont like to put in my pockets, I miss too many calls that way.
