Apple finally revealed their UK carrier at the "Mum is no longer the word" Apple event in London.
And as the rumour predicted it (oh yes, sometimes they are true! Ok, I know…there was a rumour for every European carrier….), O2 will be the exclusive carrier in the UK. The iPhone will be on sale on November 9th for a retail price of £269 including VAT. Sorry guys, no 3G. Just the same 8Gb iPhone with Edge.
The phone comes with an unlimited data plan and voice plans ranging from £35, £45, £55 for 200-600-1200 minutes respectively. 200 SMS are included in the basic voice plan and the other two plans have both 500 SMS included.
Don’t worry about the poor Edge network because Cloud will provide 7500 hotspots for free for iPhone users.
Finally, Carphone Warehouse will sell the iPhone in its 1300 retail locations.
