Steve Jobs announced, a few minutes ago, a completely revamped iPod line-up. A new iPod nano (yes the rumor was true), an iPod Classic and the iPod Touch.

A new nano is introduced. It’s called the "fatty":

  • Full metal design
  • Very thin
  • 2-inch screen
  • QVGA
  • Enhanced User interface
  • 3 games bundled with the player
  • Cover flow
  • Podcasts with G4’s Freestyle
  • Battery: 24 hours of audio and 5 hours of video playback
  • Available in 4Gb(silver only) and 8Gb(all the colors)
  • 4GB has retail price of $149
  • 8GB has a retail price of $199
  • Available by the end of this week

The iPod becomes the iPod Classic:

  • Full metal design
  • Thinner the the previous version
  • Available in 80GB and 160GB versions
  • Battery: 40 hours of audio and 7 hours of video playback
  • 80Gb has a retail price of $249
  • 160Gb has a retail price of $349
