At the Apple event in San Francisco this afternoon, Steve Jobs unveiled the long awaited iPod Touch. The new device that can be describe as an iPhone without the phone is a major step forward for the iPod product line.

  • 3.5 inch widescreen display
  • Cover flow
  • Wi-Fi
  • Safari browser
  • Youtube
  • Google and Yahoo search
  • Thinner than the iPhone
  • 8GB has a retail price of $299
  • 16GB has a retail price of $399
  • Battery: 22 hours of audio and 5 hours of video playback
  • Available: By the end of September
