Yes, you could tell me that one is a phone and the other one is a multimedia player and making an iPhone vs. iPod Touch comparison is like comparing apples and oranges. You would be right. But with the release of the iPod Touch, an important part of what makes the iPhone so attractive is also in the Touch. And with the AT&T lock on the iPhone, I’m pretty sure that many people will stick to their tiny mobile phone and buy an iPod Touch for music, video and net surfing.
Besides that, the iPod Touch is available internationally and the iPhone is still only available in the US. The iPod Touch will be a blockbuster overseas. Guarantee.
Use the above table if you need to compare the two devices.
If you think we should add something to the table let us know in the comments.

Colin,
I checked that and I think softpedia is wrong. After searching on the Apple forums, I found out that they probably made a mistake by saying that the new Component AV cable was compatible with the iPhone.
Check the specs: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=184EAE7D&nplm=MB128LL/A
The iPhone logo was removed.

Another useful column would be how much video or audio can be stored. I am curious how much of the 8G is left in the iPhone after all the apps and data.

Jay Kidd, after all the apps there is approximatly 7.3g left

an important feature that you forgot to mention is that the iphone has built-in speakers(at the bottom) and the ipod touch does not.
If you forget your earphones, you’ll end up watching a silent movie.
