We’re not sure if Apple is playing a cat and mouse game here, but they’re certainly not leading the game.

Apple just released the update 7.4.2 update for iTunes and apparently the update broke the previous iTunes ringtone hack that allowed syncing any AAC file as a ringtone.

But Ambrosia Software, the makers of iToner, released an updated version of their software that supports iTunes 7.4.2.
