Howdy fellow Freaks! I’m back from my Caribbean vacation – no I didn’t try to take my iPhone, I know about those crazy AT&T data charges! – and it’s time to recharge my beloved device. Look carefully at the pic here, please.
Yes, I saw the dreaded red bar. So I plugged iPhone into my MacBookPro and went about my daily business. 5 hours later, still red bar. Hunh?? I thought to myself. 5 hours!?!?
But, well, maybe iPhone was really really tired. I let another 2 hours pass. Flipped over iPhone, woke it up, still red bar. Whuuuh??
At hour 8 I was getting depressed when I scrutinized the icon in the top right-hand corner. Yup, the plug, not the spark.
iPhone was actually charged, but the red bar hadn’t been updating to the sliding green progress one to indicate charge level.
Long-time readers know I have a virgin 4MB iPhone. So it’s not a consequence of a hack or jailbreak.
I restarted my iPhone with baited breath. Whooooo. . . .
Breathing out, breathing in. . . .iPhone returned, with a normal home screen, and the upper-right hand charge icon appeared full, as would be expected.
If this happens again, I’m reporting it as an official firmware issue! Because I’m not the only one it’s happened to.
Freaks, have any of you seen this yourselves?

I have another bug which is making me crazy. I have a number of different chargers I use with my iphone. One at work, one in my car, a couple at home. I frequently will plug my phone into a charger without it charging the phone or even recognizing the charger. This from a charger that worked earlier in the day and continues to work with my ipod. Then a day or two later the charger will work with the phone again. It appears to be random. Is this also related to the firmware issue?

I’m having the exact problem only it started with 1.1.3.
This is on an 8gb w/o any hacks etc.
