French Unlocked iPhones not Really Unlocked After All

I must admit that Apple never cease to amaze me. When we think that they will have to do something or that they will make a specific move, they come up with something we couldn’t think of.

That is the case once again with the French unlocked iPhone. It’s against the law if France to lock a phone for a specific French network. We all thought that Apple would have to sell unlocked iPhone. Right? But it looks like Apple just pulled another iPhone trick from their firmware hat.

Orange does sell non-exclusive iPhones in France, but the iPhone SIM cards work only with the other French operators like Bouygues. Simply brilliant. It’s not carrier-locked now but country locked…

Do Apple’s engineers really plan everything in advance?

this really make me think that apple is very selfish. don’t get me wrong i do own an iphone. but i think that apple should give the freedom to people to use their phone on any network. and people say that microsoft wants to monopolize the tech world.
