I’ve seen products from Prima Cases a few times, but this was really the first opportunity I had to try one of their products.

The case I received from Prima is called the Lateral Leather Case for the iPhone. This is a hard shell leather case with a low profile belt clip and a recessed magnetic flap closure. The interior of thecase is made of smooth velvet lining, to avoid scratches on the iPhone. The product comes in a nice but standard packaging.

Usability: When attached to your belt, the case stays there and it does
its job perfectly. Nothing special here. But the problem with this type
of case is in fact the iPhone itself. The iPhone is a slippery device,
and when you have to take it out of the case while it’s attached to
your belt, you can hardly do it without touching the screen. If you
haven’t locked the screen, you could end-up answering a call before the
iPhone is even out of the case.

Construction quality: This is an excellent quality product and it will
last for years to come. Stitching is very well made and leather quality
is also very good. The magnetic clip works also perfectly. It’s large
enough so you don’t even have to look at the case to secure the iPhone.

Design: From a design perspective, the case is very attractive. Well, I
say attractive, but that depends on the style you’re looking for. The
case gives its owner an executive and conservative look.  Is this a
perfect match for you? That’s your call.

Conclusion: This is an excellent quality product, but I’m not sure this
is the best fit for the iPhone. The Bookstyle and Open face cases also
available from Prima Cases are probably more appropriate for the iPhone.

Nevertheless, if you want to buy a quality product and you don’t want
to spend a fortune, Prima cases should be on your list. The lateral
case is available in black only and has a retail price of $32.95.
