It goes without saying that many criminals are just plain dumb. That mold fits with some guys in New York who were just nailed by police for stealing nearly $100,000 in iPhones.
The theft, as reported by WCBS, was in the form of iPhones heading to a New York area airport for shipment overseas. The cargo was stolen by employees of a firm responsible for getting the cargo to the airport.
It might have gone unnoticed if the thieves had not suddenly quit their jobs and purchased things they might not normally be able to afford. This was on top of replacing the iPhones weight in volume with an equal amount of "paper products and shrink wrap."
