Too Many Emails on your iPhone? Use MailCurve, a Unique Email Service for iPhone Users!

The amount of excitement everyone had about using email on their iPhone for the first few months has levelled out a bit. Although there have been broad discussions about the potential support for the corporate enterprise, and comparisons with Blackberries, etc. there have also been ideas and post  about making mobile email more productive for "the rest of us" on the iPhone and other devices.

Today, my friend and iPhonefreak’s very own Brian McAlpin, is launching a new email service for iPhone users that takes a unique approach. MailCurve allows you to send copies of your incoming email, from as many accounts as you’re using, to an account that allows you to filter it right from your iPhone. They call it "Refined Email". What a great idea… you have a web app on your iPhone where you create different lists of senders email addresses, and then activate or deactivate those lists whenever you want to.

So even though all my mail still goes to my computer, I can have only mail from the most important senders copied to my iPhone. This seriously keeps all the junk & spam off your iPhone, and even the mail you need, but don’t want to deal with while you’re out.

I can enter sender’s addresses one at a time from the iPhone interface, or upload a complete address list from my desktop… and then use the iPhone to sort them into lists etc. I was messing with this after watching their video, and see many great uses already… I can get mobile email copies from just my "Clients" or "Family" lists, and then turn off the Clients list and turn on the "Friends" list I created. And if I still want all my email for a short time (which already seems like a huge drag in comparison) I can activate the "Receive All Email" list, then turn it off again. The MailCurve app on the iPhone is great and has neat features like displaying your current account configuration (who you are receiving mail from right now) and creating a homescreen webclip that logs you into your account securely. They have a video on their site at www.mailcurve.com that shows how the application works.

For the last couple of months, and until a few weeks ago, Brian would only tell me that he "had something coming" for the iPhone. After he walkedme through it, I was floored… what a great idea! and very well done.

They’re letting everyone try it out for 2 weeks for free, so you can get your mail copies forwarded and have a chance to really work with it. Then it’s less than $3 a month. They’re also giving away an embossed leather iPhone case from Vaja to every 100th customer.

Watch the video, give it a try, and let them know if you have questions. Brian has a strong technical background, and has really worked through this product. I know he’ll support it like crazy.

Great job Brian, and good luck to you and everyone at MailCurve!
