Cheaper iPhones in the UK! France?

Apparently negotiations between Apple Inc. and Orange, a French cellphone carrier, were initiated earlier this week. The main topic of these discussions was to lower the current price of the iPhone in France.

According to Les Echos, a French newspaper, Apple is not pleased with
the performance and sales figures of the iPhone in France, only 100,000
iPhones have been sold there since they became available. Additionally, Orange has claimed that they are content with the current iPhone, so only time will tell whether or not a price cut is actually in the works.

We have recently seen iPhone price drops in countries such as Germany, why you ask? Well, with the upcoming release of the 3G iPhone, iPhone distributors around the world need shelf space!

More good news! Apple UK has recently cut the price of the iPhone in the UK by £100, from £269 to £169 ($527 to $331).

All of this bodes very well for a soon to come 3G iPhone release, which analysts predict will be released sometime in June, new appearance and all.
