Using your iPhone as a Home Theatre Remote

Posted by Nino Marchetti

SpeakercraftiphoneA home automation company by the name of SpeakerCraft has taken a novel approach to using your iPhone as one of its tools - you can now use the phone to control your home theater system and associated devices.

SpeakerCraft calls this remote control offering the MZC Control for iPhone. CE Pro reports the iPhone makes use of its Web browser to let you access an interface tied into "an embedded Web server" that is part of a larger control system. Through this interface one can view song information and playlists as well as, we assume, control various components and audio zones around the home.

The system reportedly will run you around $1,000.
