If you’re like me, you may browse the internet at an abnormally high speed. Personally I use YubNub on my browser to trick out my searches. Unfortunately, this can be a little tougher on the iPhone because the built in Safari browser won’t take extensions or plug-ins of any kind. This limitation can be smartly circumvented, though, by a little thing called a "bookmarklet."

A bookmarklet is a URL that also includes a Javascript command. While these are occasionally used on PC browsers, they are endlessly useful to the iPhone surfer. Here are a few of my favorites:
- YubNub - a great, community-programed search tool that will blow you away.
- Wikipedia - pops up a dialog box for the mighty Wiki
- Find - highlights a selected word on the page whenever it occurs
- iTransmogrify! - until the iPhone gets Flash support, this seeks out flash videos that break on a page (install site)
- Display all images - digests all the images on the current page into a scrollable picture list
- Copy/Paste - clearly Steve’s least favorite command (this link is to the install site)
All of these are installable on un-Jail Broken iPhones by syncing with Safari. This now works on PCs and Macs using Safari. Just drag the above links into a folder for bookmarklets in Safari’s bookmark manager and sync up in iTunes. For more of the best bookmarklets, this LifeClever article is a great resource. Good luck and happy finger-surfing!
P.S. - Glad to be joining the iPhoneFreak family.
