Welcome to the new iPhonefreak. As explained before, we’ve made the move from Typepad to Wordpress. Please don’t hesitate to report any problems you may come across while browsing the site (contact us at info @ iphonefreak.com).

As you can see from the menu, the blog now has 4 main sections: Accessories, Applications, News and Resources. Blog posts have also been re-categorized to fit within these new sections. Some of them already have a lot of content, but a few of the newer ones will have to be filled over the upcoming months.

This is the first step (and probably the most important) we had to take to bring you the most complete iPhone blog on the Internet.

Here are the major highlights:

Categorization
We now have four main categories: Accessories, Applications, News and Resources

Tags
We’ve added tags to the posts, and a tag cloud is also available in the sidebar.

Frontpage
The front page no longer has a blog style template. A ‘magazine style’ page has been created to reflect the evolution on the blogosphere. The page will eventually be modified to show content from the different categories. What do you think – thumbs up? thumbs down?

Avatar
We’ve included an author avatar based on www.gravatar.com. As an iPhonefreak poster, you can also have your avatar displayed as well as your comments. Just register at gravatar.com and use the same email address when you write a comment on the blog.

Heads up for the most popular and most commented posts
We now display the most popular and most commented upon posts in the sidebar. Give the system a few days before this starts to fully make sense though. Data used to compile the results is still very limited for now.

iPhone applications
We now have a dedicated section for iPhone applications. You can now rate the apps – with top rated apps shown in the sidebar. We’ve also added a ‘submit your iPhone app fave’ form for submitting new apps. All types of applications – web, iTunes Store , jailbroken – can be listed in the iPhone application section.

iPhone accessories
Accessories also have their own dedicated section. Reviews and product announcements are always welcome in this section. Different types of accessories are already listed, but feel free to suggest new ones.

Latest videos
Many excellent iPhone related videos are published on the web. In this section, located in the sidebar, we’ll publish the best ones we’ve seen. Want to make a suggestion? Send us links to the videos you’ve found.

Author Page
In the past year, iPhonefreak has moved from a single author blog to a multiple author community blog. The need to give access to each blogger’s posts soon became a must. In the left sidebar, you’ll now see a link to the author’s page. Just click on an author’s name and you’ll have instant access to all the posts published by this author.
