Apple’s yearly Back to School promo offering is the best offer to date, offering up a $299 rebate. This offer which runs from now through October 15, 2008 allows students to purchase a Mac computer to include a MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air or iMac and receive a $299 rebate towards the purchase of either an 8GB iPod Touch or 8GB iPod nano.
Of course this offer does have its limitations, this is good just for higher education (college) students and the $299 comes in the form of a mail-in-rebate, which means if you are not good at remembering to fill out and submit the forms, then you may want to pass on this offer. Overall a great way to get an iPod Touch or iPod nano for free, that is assuming you were already planning, or at least considering a new computer purchase.
