Canadians get another option, Fido announces iPhone 3G availability

Fido has joined the iPhone party, a recently announced deal states they will have the iPhone 3G available on July 11.

Similar to the announcement that we saw come from Rogers, they will offer the 8GB for $199 and the 16GB for $299, both will require a three-year agreement. They have also not announced any pricing for the data plans, simply stating “stay tuned.” With Canada typically having higher priced data plans, at least compared to here in the US, we can only hope that they will be a little more competitive for the iPhone.

There will be no competition Fido is owned by Rogers

  2. Stephane Says:

It’s own by Rogers, but monthly plans are usually cheaper than Rogers. I can’t wait to see how they’re going to deal with this.

Sorry for the mis-understanding. I should have explained that a little better, I actually meant competition in general and not between Rogers and Fido specifically.
