With just a few days until the Keynote that will hopefully bring us the next-gen iPhone both the online Apple Store as well AT&T are listing the current status as unavailable.
The online Apple Store has both the 8GB and 16GB iPhone marked as “Currently Unavailable” while AT&T shows a very similar “Temporarily Out Of Stock” message.
Of course, as we have seen in the past when a new Apple product is on the horizon, the remaining stock dwindles down and then disappears. Hopefully this pattern will hold true.

This is obviously a sure bet that the iPhone 3G will be coming. What I was thinking was when going to the att website and clicking on the iphone (16 or 8gb) that in the address bar and the end it shows the sku number. I had the strange urge to change the number and it took me to a different product. I was thinking that if someone out there could somehow try and figure out the sku number so that it will take us to a product site for the 3G iphone. its just a thought. I may be wrong.
