According to a recently surfaced rumor, iPhone software version 2.0 is expected to go gold as early as this Friday. This comes courtesy of Gizmodo, who are claiming that the release is “highly probable.” Of course they were also quick to point out that the “date is tentative” and were noted as stating that “this is the plan.”
“The iPhone 2.0 operating system Golden Master will follow the release of build 345, which has seen the activation of two code-signing and encryption features not previously available.”
What does this mean for current iPhone users? Truly nothing, but it does at least offer some additional peace of mind that the software version 2.0 will be available and ready for July 11. But perhaps more important, it also gives the iPhone Dev Team a little extra time to begin their work on cracking the final build before its official release.

What a convaluted snippet this is. What the hell does that mean “go gold”. Who cares about the dumb ass dev team…there a bunch of hacks whos time has come. We have legit and stable apps coming. Its time the dev team starts looking for other work,..i hear chuckie cheese needs people to fix thier pinball machines…you think you can handle that “dev team” ?
