Ok, so maybe he doesn’t have an iPhone per se, but I’m assuming at least some of you are interested in the contents of Sen. Obama’s personal iPod.
The presumptive Democratic nominee for the highest office in the land recently sat down with Rolling Stone magazine for an interview that will be published shortly. In it he listed some of the music he carries around on the campaign trail. They include:
- The jazz of Miles Davis and John Coltrane
- Rap from Jay-Z and Ludacris
- He is concerned with some of the lyrics and doesn’t want his daughters to hear the misogynistic [woman hating] and materialistic themes that are so ubiquitous in modern rap.
- Still, he says, “…I think the genius of the art form has shifted the culture and helped to desegregate music.”
- The Rolling Stones themselves (he loves “Gimmie Shelter”)
- Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan (both have publicly supported Obama’s campaign)
- “I’ve got to say, having both Dylan and Bruce Springsteen say kind words about you is pretty remarkable,” Obama said. “Those guys are icons.”
I love hearing about this kind of stuff. Clearly Obama has a fairly mature and balanced taste in music.

Miles Davis….way to stick with the most popular jazz available. Love you Obams, but you need to diversify.

Yes, because one can only have good taste by listening to obscure music.
