Assuming you are planning to upgrade to the new iPhone; What are your thoughts on color?
There are of course a few factors that will play into your decision, first off if you are planning to get the 8GB model than you will have your decision made for you as its only available in black.
However myself, and I am sure others will feel the same way, given the 16GB model is only $100 more I am opting for that model. That means we will have to decide on whether or not to go for the black or white model.
I was initially excited to see the white added and was initially planning to go ahead with that — and then I remembered that I have a white MacBook and it now looks horrible, even with proper care and regular cleaning. Now I am not so sure which way to go.
My thoughts are that they white model ‘could’ suffer the same effects as the white MacBook, but I am also afraid that the black model will show the scuffs, scratches and fingerprints more.
A difficult decision, any thoughts?

I will go for a 16GB black iPhone. For me, white is dead… I’ve seen and used too many white iPods.
I would have loved a red iPhone…Maybe later this year?

I will go with the black also. I have the black iPod so I will continue with my theme I think! :^)

Well I hope they come out with more colors.
I would go for a gun metal or a silver one myself.
It would be cool to see some carbon fiber ones also..
It would make for a great looking phone.
I guess black is it for now for me…

looking dirty is way more gross than having scratches. I think the decision should already be made for you as they always sell the black mac books a little more expensive than the white ones because of the complaint you just had. And guess what? the white will not take too long before it starts showing those signs cos it is a cell phone that you will use most of the time as opposed to a laptop that is not as nearly used.
I hope this helps. However, the white finish may be able to resist this “usage-dirt” from the way they make it. We may have to lay hands on one first to decide finally.

The White looks lame with a black front.

I’m definitely going for the black model, scratches or not. I’ll probably put it in a case anyway, but I’ve never been a fan of the looks of white colored apple devices, or any device. I even got a black xbox 360 in one part because of the color. If I was in line and they ran out of the black 16gb, I’d not settle for the white and come back later.

I personally like the clean fresh look of white … though the black front kinda bugs me.
and as got the plastic getting all crapped up… i’ve never had that problem, and i owned an iBook for two and a half years. i think that people just don’t take good enough care of their stuff…
that said, the goofiness of the half black half white iPhone will most definitely make me go for the black

colorwarepc.com has custom colors for iPhones! I want one but can’t decide the color!

I think I’ll go with a black as well. Though, I’m going to really miss my two-tone aluminum backing. The good news is, since the new one isn’t as pretty (at least in pictures), maybe I’ll finally be able to get a case. It was always too pretty to hide.

Whatever color you decide, you may want to put a clear skin on it. I’ve used Best Skins Ever and Invisable Shield. They’re about the same except for price. It keeps the sleek look while giving the phone some scratch and dirt protection. I went case crazy at first, but I just keep minimal now. Hope this helps you in making your choice.

I waited in line for two hours and was pretty set on the white 16g, but at the very last second I changed my mind and purchased the black… I’m now wishing I just stuck with my first choice. I can’t stand the constant visible fingerprints all over….
but I’m going back to exchange it tomorrow sooooo, it’s not the end of the world!
