That’s right folks!  Today is the day for announcing the winners of our contest where we are giving away Shades Cases for the iPhone and iPod Touch in conjunction with our review of the product.  Let’s get right to the winners and I’ll explain the fine print later.

Winners:

  • I use my iPhone for every aspect of my life, and I don’t know how I would make it with out one. However its been dropped and it is getting scratched up. I NEED PROTECTION!!! iPhone freak is my first icon on my dock. Due to the fact that I don’t have a computer Im even typing this on my iPhone. Trust me Ive been getting my $400.00 bucks worth. Aqua,clear,or midnight black would be perfect.

  • i need the case because the one i have is very bulky. i use my iphone most of the day, i have also helped about 8 other jailbreak there iphones. i guess im the iphone freak of my town. everyone knows my by my phone and all the cool things it can do, compared to the other people that just have the plain iphone that dosent do much, i love to amaze them. ill take clear black blue red or green if i can win a free one, i also recommend iphonefreak.com to all my friends
• Orange – Bob Sosin
  • I’m a social worker whose clients are psychotics, and the calender, phone, and browser are a constant part of my sessions. Many of my clients believe that computers can inject thoughts into their brains, and they can be quite agitated at the sight of a black or white machine, however elegant in design! I’m thinking that an orange, yellow, or pink case might be sufficiently non-machine-like to prevent these fears.
• Pink – Theresa
  • I ADORE MY IPHONE, NO I LOVE IT. I BABY IT AND WIPE THE SCREEN ONLY PUT IN THE POCKET WITH NOTHING IN IT. IT HAS NO SCRATCHES OR DINGS AND IM IN MY 7TH MONTH. I HAD TO GET A REPLACEMENT WHEN MY PROXIMITY SENSOR WENT OUT. I LOVE MINE SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH I PAID TO RENT THE $30 IPHONE WHEN MINE SHIPPED FOR WARRANTY. MY RENTED PHONE DIDN’T WORK (i was so bummed), but i quickly received my replacement phone which still had proximity sensor problems.
    I LOVE MY PHONE SO MUCH, I WON’T SEND IT IN AGAIN FOR WARRANTY, even though my pocket and cheek make calls all the time.
    I NEED A HOT PINK CASE CAUSE THERES NOTHING HOTTER RIGHT NOW THAN THE IPHONE, AND THERES NOTHING HOTTER RIGHT NOW THAN HOT PINK.
    I’ve told about 9 million people i love my phone and they should get one. It’s the best phone ever, even with its few little kinks.

• Yellow – Deda
  • I LOVE my iphone. It’s more than just a phone, it’s a way of life. I would like to pamper it with a new case to show it exactly how much it is appreciated for making my day brighter. I can’t wait to shower it with sdk 2.0 love and fill it to the brim with new native apps.
    I NEED a new iphone case so that I am not tempted to run out on July 11th and purchase the new 3G version. (My current version hasn’t failed me, so why should I kick it to the curb so quickly for the latest hot thing) I would love to remain happy with my current version as long as possible. After all, we are in a recession!
• Red – Dave
  • I had a growing yellow spot on my iPhone screen. Took to my local SF Apple Genius Bar and they said I had “abused” my phone and could not help. Now, I realize my baby has a lot of scratches on the metal case from sharing a pocket with keys, et al, but I thought it was doing pretty well for nearly a year of heavy use.So I was just in Boston working the NBA Finals and my camera went out. Bummer because I like posting pics from these jobs for the folks at home. I decided to head over to the Apple Storethere and explained the yellow spot problem and the new camera problem. Genius went away for a long time then came back and said “all we need to do is reset the phone to “new” status and that will fix the camera” and he started in on the process. I then asked about the yellow spot and he said, well, although your phone has been abused and is really borderline, we could swap it out with a refurb if you want.And there was much rejoicing.Anyway, since I am not upgrading, am keen to avoid being called an iPhone abuser by Apple Geniuses in the future and would like to keep one of the very last of the originals as pristine as possible, I submit my entry.Any color, as long as it’s manly and dignified (that would mean no hot pink) would be appreciated.
• Aqua/Blue – Marc
  • Ode to my iPhone
    So bold, so smart, so loving
    They all envy me

    I forgot colors
    Aqua, rosy red, hot pink
    I apologize

• Green – Evinde
  • Though it looks strong
    And moves quite fast
    Those careless to drop it
    Will leave too many a scratch.
    I’m one of them, you see;
    The ones not so wise
    Who leave their babies bare and cold
    As they fall to their demise.
    Even if I was not a klutz,
    It wouldn’t really matter.
    The black and white
    Could blind my eyes-
    And the precious one would scatter.
    What’s life without color?
    Since my Phone’s part of life
    It’s sometimes dull
    Without suprise, holding strife
    So next time the ringing
    Echoes out through the hall
    When I draw my sweet Iphone
    And it suffers a fall
    It might be protected
    From some awful fate

Congratulations to all of our winners!  There were some great entries and there were some weird ones too!  All of the winners were picked based on my arbitrary little mind, so if you weren’t chosen, so sorry.  There were some very close races on some of the colors.

If you were selected, you will recieve an email shortly detailing how to claim your prize!  Make sure it doesn’t fall into your spam filter!  You must respond sometime this week or your prize will be sent off to somone else.  Post a comment here if you have a question.

A few of the cases were used as testers, but they are all in good order.  If you want, run a cuetip around the inside before you apply it if you want to make sure it is clean.  In a couple of days use, they will all look pretty much the same, regardless of whether they were tested or not, so don’t worry about it.
