App Store tops 25 million downloads

It may have taken just three days for customers to download those first 10 million apps from the App Store, but it took 10 days more to hit the 25 million mark. While still an impressive number it does seem to be slowing down just a bit.

If you consider that the first 3 days saw about 3.33 million downloads per day, then the next ten days would be on an average of 2.5 million downloads per day.

Still an impressive number, but it leads me to believe that the initial success was in part due to over excitement of the early adopters.

While it would be nice to think that this success will continue or at least reach a plateau and maintain itself, I can see it slowing down a bit more once the initial iPhone 3G craze is over.

Its only realistic to think that at some point the early adopters, the ones who are more than likely to download a bunch of apps will get tired of playing and just stop. I downloaded quite a bit that first weekend but have since slowed down to just apps that I really have an interest in or have come across by way of recommendation.
