With the lines that we have been seeing, not only on Friday, but Saturday and even some on Sunday this news should come as little surprise, however Apple has announced that they have already sold one million iPhone 3G’s.
With just three days, and totaling sales from 21 countries Apple sold their one millionth iPhone 3G on Sunday.
“iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world.”
While it seems like a great milestone, and certainly shows that this was a device that was in demand, I cannot really agree with Steve Jobs comparison to the 74 days that it took to sell one million of the original iPhones.
I do feel that there was a little more excitement with the 3G launch, because it did attract some newer more casual users thanks to the seemingly lower price, and we of course had the fanboys and fangirls that were more than willing to upgrade, but the iPhone 3G was also available in many more counties.
That being said, one million in one weekend is still an impressive number.

I wonder what the breakdown of units were especially seeing how many were sold in the U.S.A. and Canada.

Sure the battery on iPhone 3G is not that great, but what can we do? We want small size phones, powerful features and lengthy battery life.
Just get a backup battery. I got mine from iPhoneck brands. Their new 3G backup battery is probably one of the better looking products in the market. Their website is http://www.iphoneck.com

It’s really impressive how apple succeed with the second version of the iPhone. I live in France and heard that there won’t be any available iPhone 3G until October.
