Apple sets July 7 App Store deadline for developers

Apple sets July 7 App Store deadline for developers

Apple has officially announced that July 7 will be the last day for developers to submit an application and have it be included in the App Store at the time of launch.

“To ensure your application can be considered for the exciting launch of the App Store, submit your application by 12 PM PDT, on July 7, 2008. We will continue to accept applications after this time, however your application may not be available until after the launch of the App Store.”

Of course, this deadline only applies to developers who want their application available for the Grand Opening, they can and most will continue to submit applications long after the July 7 deadline. Of course it would most likely only benefit those to have it in for the initial launch, one would think it would gain, or at least have the possibility to gain a little more exposure.

With just a holiday weekend (at least here in the US) between now and the deadline date, it looks like we may be seeing some US based developers putting in some overtime this weekend.
