AT&T will retain original iPhone calling plans for the original iPhone

With the recent announcement of the new calling plans for the iPhone 3G, AT&T has seemingly removed the original iPhone plans from their website. The original iPhone will no longer be sold by AT&T or Apple, however there will remain a popular used market for the phone and those customers will still need calling and data plans.

AT&T has since confirmed that original iPhone plans will remain in effect for anyone who wants to sign up for a new activation with an original iPhone. Those plans will still offer the unlimited data, email, visual voicemail as well as those 200 text messages and remain at $20, as opposed to the newer 3G data plan that is $30.
