Brando brings stereo Bluetooth to the iPhone with their INFINIXX AP23

While Apple may have neglected to offer stereo Bluetooth support with the new iPhone 2.0 firmware, or any of the other iPod models for that matter, there is always that third party manufacturer that will set up and give us something to work with.

While generally I am not a big fan of add-ons or external products for the iPhone or iPod, the INFINXX AP23 stereo Bluetooth adapter from Brando seems to match well with Apple’s design, at least when it comes to the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The INFINXX AP23 is currently available and retailing for $62, but that will give you A2DP support which means you will be able to use a set of stereo Bluetooth headphones. The INFINXX AP23 will even support a set of headphones with a built in mic, meaning wireless music and calling.

In addition to working with the iPhone, both original and 3G it will also work with various iPod models to include the Touch, Nano, Classic, Video and Mini.

The one downfall, is the shipping, at least for any US based customers it will cost $3 for standard shipping which can take up to 20 working days, of course you could always speed that up to 7 working days if you were willing to part with an extra $39, personally I would opt to wait a little while longer.

Why does it have to have a flimsy dongle hanging off the bottom? Why can’t it ergonomically cup the bottom of the iphone so it doesn’t get in the way?

Oakley has made an item like this for quite a long while now. It is called the “iCombi” and was about $50 when I got mine a year ago. They also make some glasses (with changeable lenses from normal to shades) that are iphone and stereo music capable with controls for both discretely placed on the temples. Both can also be used with iPods.

think the reason the bottom is not ergonomically designed to cup the bottom of the iphone is that it is designed to work on most Apple i products like the ipod, itouch, and since there is more than one iphone (2g and 3g), making a dedicated cup, would mean, it would only work on one device.

What would have been a possibility would have been interchangeable attachments, that could be added depending on what i product you have.
