Hopefully there is not anyone who bought an iPhone 3G and already broke the display, because as we have seen its not easy to get your hands on a new one yet, and as we already know Apple charges quite a lot for a replacement LCD panel.
However the sometime interesting and sometime useful company Brando has come to the rescue with its very own DIY style LCD replacement for the iPhone 3G. Keep in mind they have little information about the display other than it is an “iPhone 3G Replacement LCD Display” so I cannot attest to the quality.
Now for lots of people, I would suggest paying the extra money and have it professionally done from Apple, but if you are looking to go the cheap DIY route, then at least make sure you grab the Brando “iPhone Opening Tools Kit” for an extra $10.50.
If nothing else, I will offer a “good luck” for anyone who chooses to replace their LCD. The iPhone 3G Replacement LCD Display is currently available and retails for $85.
