Acclaimed technology blogger, Chris Pirillo, recently purchased SEGA’s Super Monkey Ball from the iTunes App Store and has put together a little video review of it. (For all intents and purposes skip ahead to around 2:20.)
Super Monkey Ball is currently one of the more expensive applications on the App Store, selling for a cool $9.99. Expensive as it may be, this price-tag has not prevented Super Monkey Ball from reaching the top of the charts as the current “Top Paid App.”
Is the iPhone the future of handheld gaming? Well, at the rate Apple is going it very well could be, we’ll just have to wait and see just how far they [Apple] get in such a competitive market.
To purchase this fun little game, either navigate to the iTunes App Store, or click this link.

This guy is “acclaimed”? He seemed pretty nerdy and boring to me.

I mean he is featured on CNN (http://search.cnn.com/search?query=chris+pirillo&type=video&sortBy=date&intl=false) and has a pretty sizable fanbase (http://chris.pirillo.com/stats/)
Are you saying that just because he’s boring and nerdy that he can’t be acclaimed?

He really couldn’t hold my attention for longer than a few minutes even though i tried a couple of times. I haven’t seen him before, but i am not that big into CNN. I just didn’t really get any impressive vibe from him that i expected from someone who would have been “acclaimed”. Either way, its just my opinion, and you know what they say about them…

Haha, I agree with you, he is not the most interesting or captivating guy but he gets the point across.

On a side note, well, it should be the main note, has anyone else tried this game? I dont think i am going to shell out $10 for it unless it is amazing. Either way, Enigmo looks a little cooler anyways. Any thoughts on the two from people who have played them?

I haven’t played Enigmo, but I did buy Super Monkey Ball. On the plus side, the graphics, and production values are superb. On the down side, the controls are incredibly difficult and frustrating. Especially the way the camera will move around to follow your movement and you have to move the iPhone to match it.
I haven’t decided whether this is a great game or a terrible game.

I will give this guy an itunes gift card for him to not ever make another video. That was the most annoying review I’ve ever wasted time watching.

Thanks Steven.
How professional is soliciting your audience? Not very.

I usually like this guy, but this review was useless and annoying. If I send in iTunes money will he shut up?
