iPhone 3G defect? Yellow-tinted screens
July 11, 2008 | Tim Bradbury

A number of iPhone 3G users who recently purchased the handset noticed that the 3G runs much hotter than the original iPhone, and that a possible side effect of this heat is an unappealing yellow-tinted screen.
Many MacRumor’s forum users seem to prefer the original iPhone’s display much more than that of new 3G. Some 3G owners experiencing this problem are looking to get their new yellow-tinted 3Gs replaced by Apple, at this point in time it is unclear if Apple sees this issue as big enough to justify replacing the unit.
Until Apple decides whether or not to replace the yellow-tinted units, some users have found that by increasing the brightness of their screens they can make this problem less noticeable.
An AppleInsider reader by the name of Naoman sent in a side-by-side comparison of the original iPhone’s screen to the 3G’s screen, click here to see them (scroll down after clicking link.)

I cracked the glass on my iPhone classic and bought a replacement iPhone classic (even though the screen still worked). When I compared the two screens side-by-side, I noticed the newer iPhone had the same yellow tinge described here. After using it for a few days I compared the two screens again and couldn’t tell a difference. Perhaps the iPhone 3G screens require a few days of burn-in before they reach true color?
I had a similar experience to David R’s. I had to have my original iPhone replaced, and noticed that the screen on the replacement was yellow and dingy looking, but in a few days, it brightened up.
that make right because i have one too i love it i think ever one should have one
