With most of us either still super excited about the release of firmware 2.0, or at the point of getting tired about hearing about what it can do, we are already seeing reports of the first “.1″ update being tested.
MacNN has apparently been monitoring web traffic and have been able to determine that some of their server logs are showing v2.0.1 instead of the v2.0 which was pre-loaded on the devices for launch or available as the iTunes upgrade. They are estimating that it may already be in “late development.”
They have even further geeked out with the analysis and broken it down into models and builds showing that the “2.5G models running 5B101, and 3Gs relying on 5B103.”
Apparently the new v2.0.1 traffic is being shown to come from the San Francisco and Atlanta area, which is close to Apple’s and AT&T’s headquarters.
No word on what if anything new this would add, but its more than likely just a minor update to fix any small issues and will not be adding any new functionality.
