It’s nice when a PC magazine gives an Apple product a fair shake, and the UK’s PC advisor did an in-depth review of iPhone 2.0, which netted the software an overall 4 out of 5 star rating, with a full five stars for value. The review concluded that the software is, “a welcome step-up for what was already arguably the best mobile platform on the market.”
PC Advisor starts with the Web App Store and the Application in iPhone 2.0 that makes it a breeze to use. They call it “a gateway into an entirely new world,” and say they, “broaden the iPhone’s abilities exponentially.” They generally like the major improvements, but seem to particularly like the minor ones, like being able to make screen shots and things like replacing the “com” pop-up menu with a multifunctional “.” button that lets you insert other domains like “.net,” “.edu,” and “.org”.
I have to agree that some of the “minor stuff” makes things a lot easier. My own favorite is the fact that I can select more than one email at a time to delete of file. I mean an iPhone SHOULD be easier to use than a Blackberry, right? PC Advisor’s reviewer, like the rest, did find some things to complain about, like lack of password management capabilities in Safari and some early release bugs that caused crashes. BTW, I have yet to experience a crash on my “old” iPhone running 2.0. Bet I never should have put that in writing!

2.04 stars? Man, they’re really precise with their ratings.
