Both iPhone and iPod Touch users can now play embedded YouTube clips with the updated firmware version 2.0. The clips, while playable are not viewed directly in Mobile Safari, but instead when the video is started it will launch the dedicated YouTube player that is on the iPhone and Touch.
This is a pretty seamless browsing experience because after the video is finished it automatically brings you back to where you left off in Mobile Safari to finish reading the web page.
So, while its still not offering flash support, it does at least bring us one step closer to web video and a desktop like browsing experience.
