Here are 5 little iPhone Apps that you will both laugh at and probably find useful at some future time. All of these are free and can be gotten from the App Store in iTunes (that’s where the following links take you).
1. Light - Nothing could be simpler than this App. Have you ever needed to walk through a dark place and realized that the screen of the iPhone is more than bright enough to work as a flashlight? Well these developers certainly did! The App just opens up a big pane of WHITE on your screen and hides everything else. There are no settings or options, just WHITE. To get out of it you hit the Home button. Turn up the screen brightness for maximum luminescence.
2. myLite Colored Strobe and Flashlight - This is similar to #1, but it has a different purpose. While it can be rigged as a flashlight, it works best as an add-on to your next rave. The controls are a bit wonky, but you can make it strobe between a black and white shade and a colored shade. It also has an option to run through all the colors. It’s pretty psycodelic, so give it a shot.
3. PhoneSaber - Did you ever pretend you were Luke Skywalker, training to stare down Darth Vader? I can’t have been the only one! Anyway, this App will make your fantasy come true by allowing you to choose your favorite lightsaber color and whirl your phone around. In fact, it even usesthe accelerometer to guess your movements and play lightsaber sounds at the appropriate times. It’s VERY cool and for the most part makes you feel like a Jedi knight.
4. Bubbles - This is a simple app for creating and popping bubbles. Dragging your finger makes bubbles of different sizes and tapping them will pop them. After you tire of this, it is also fun to play with the angle of the iPhone and make the bubbles fall one way or the other. Not very functional, but it could keep a small child occupied if the need arose.
5. Moo - Last but not least, remember those little round boxes you could turn over and they would “Moo?” Well here’s a little App that emulates that. Simply turn your sound on and turn your phone over (either glass-up or glass-down). It will then “Moo.”
I hope you like these little Apps. Please post YOUR favorite weird ones below in the comments.

Mr. Shuffle - This one lets you doctor up photos from your library with thought bubbles, funny hats, etc. My kids love it, and the interface is very well done; it takes great advantage of the pinch gestures.
