Automattic has released their highly anticipated Wordpress iPhone app. Now available for free in the App Store as version 1.0, and while it may not have been on my top 5 wish list, it is one that I have been waiting for.
Overall this is a great app to have, that is assuming you are a Wordpress blogger, and hey, if you are not it may be a good reason to switch.
The Wordpress app will work with both self-hosted or wordpress.com blogs that are version 2.5.1 or higher.
The setup is about as simple as could be, just enter the URL of your blog, your username and password and click save. The app even has support for multiple blogs. Once you enter your information you can begin blogging immediately.
Once you begin to write those posts, you will have the option to add images from the camera or your photo library, full support for tags and categories, the ability to save as a draft and even password protect a post.
Then after you finish creating that masterpiece you can preview the post directly in Safari before you publish it for all the world to see.
In addition to creating new posts, you are also edit your existing posts. One final, and possibly the most important feature is the auto-recovery mode for when your masterpiece gets interrupted by a call, that way you will not lose what you have already started.
You can grab the app from the iTunes App Store, or here is a direct link. Keep reading to check out a few screenshots from the app.
