It turns out that “I’m Rich,” more commonly known as “that application that cost $1000 dollars” was purchased by the iTunes App Store by a whopping total of eight people.
Earlier today when I wrote about one guy buying this application I was pretty surprised, but eight people? Come on now…
Six of the eight people who bought this application were American, one was German, and the other was French. Apparently one of these “victims” (if they can even be called that) thought that the application was some sort of practical joke, he wasn’t laughing when a $1000 charge appeared on his Visa statement.
He wrote the following in an iTunes review of the application, “THIS IS NO JOKE, DO NOT BUY THIS APP AND APPLE PLEASE REMOVE THIS FROM THE APP STORE…APPLE MUST MUST MUST START TO SCREEN THESE FAKE APPS AND RIDICULOUS SCAMS.”
I can see why Apple made the decision to take down this foolish application, just imagine how many complaints they would receive if it was available for even one more month.
The application’s developer, Armin Heinrich, had the following to say, ”I am sure a lot more people would like to buy it — but currently can’t do so,” Heinrich said. “The App is a work of Art and included a ’secret mantra’ — that’s all.”
