Despite earlier reports that Megafona was hoping to bring the iPhone 3G into Russia in 2009, a deal has just been secured by another carrier, Mobile TeleSystems.
According to a recent report from Reuters; Apple and Mobile TeleSystems have reached an agreement that will allow for the iPhone 3G to go on sale beginning in October.
Based on the report we have found that;
“MTS has made an agreement with Apple on the sale of iPhones,” the source said. “Sales are likely to begin in October.”
Of course, other details still remain a mystery, such as any pricing or calling/data plan information. And sadly both Apple and Mobile TeleSystems have both declined to offer up any further comment at this time.
