I have been told many times in the past that Prima makes high quality cases, however this was the first time that I was able to get my hands on one. The model that I had the opportunity to review was the Prima Leather Lateral, which will work with either the original iPhone or the iPhone 3G.

From what I could tell, this seems to be a redesign of this particular model as Prima previously had the Leather Lateral case available. The changes that I was able to notice between the older version to the model that I had was that the magnetic closure is now hidden, and it now has the open holes around the sides and bottom of the case, which I can only imagine make it a little easier to hear the ringer.

The Prima Leather Lateral case offers a pouch style design as well as a durable shell for added protection. The case itself was made of genuine leather and had a smooth velvet lining on the inside. It also had a swivel style belt clip, which could be worn either horizontal or vertical, and the magnetic closure seemed to hold the case securely closed even when vertical. Overall the case design was nice and solid feeling, and the headphone jack was easily accessible when in the case. I felt comfortable in knowing that my iPhone was protected, both with the case on my belt, or being tossed in and out of my gear bag.

Conclusion: Personally I am not a fan of wearing my cellphone, or anything else for that matter, on my belt. So its easy to say that this would not be my first choice, however with that said, the case did hold up, and protect my iPhone very well, which is exactly what you would hope for.
