mStation confirms September availability for Mophie juice pack 3G

Mophie has announced that their iPhone 3G external battery pack, the juice pack 3G will be available beginning this September. The battery pack features a nice design that hugs the back of the iPhone as opposed to sticking out like a sore thumb from the bottom.

The juice pack 3G features a rechargeable lithium polymer battery that comes pre-charged and ready to use when it arrives. It should offer users up to an additional 6 hours of talk time on 3G, 12 hours of talk time off 3G, 350 hours of standby time, 28 hours of audio playback, 8 hours of video playback and 6 hours of 3G Internet use.

In addition to the extra power, the battery offers an “ergonomic, comfort-grip” “with a soft-touch, non-slip finish,” along with four LED lights to indicate just how much battery life you have left. The juice pack 3G also has a USB passthrough which will allow you to still sync your iPhone and also charge both the juice pack and iPhone 3G at the same time.

Expect to pay $99.95, and don’t forget, Mophie is also currently offering a raffle where they will be giving 10 away for free. Its also currently available as a pre-order.

Im assuming this will not fit in any normal docks. Do they have a 3rd party dock, or any other dock that it will fit into?

While this seems like an awesome idea, the inability to dock it or keep it in a case would be a deal-breaker for me.

These will not work with the standard Apple dock, the access on the bottom will just allow the cable to be plugged in directly.

I am constantly charging my battery! I already got mine on pre-order and hoping I get it before my trip to New York City. I want to be able to wander around with the GPS and iPod going without having to worry about stopping at a starbucks to charge up :)

The fact that it doesn’t dock isn’t that big of a deal because I don’t see this as something I will use everyday I can see how a dock would be nice so that you could charge it in a dock, but def. not a deal break for me.

If you have a second come check out a poll on my blog to guess when the juice pack 3g will be released and have a chance to win a juice pack 3g if you guess the correct date
