For those who were waiting, the DevTeam has just released the updated version of their Pwnage Tool. Now at version 2.0.2, the update is available in the “Check for Updates” through your current 2.0 or 2.0.1, or by visiting their website directly.
As promised Pwnage Tool 2.0.2 includes Installer 4 Beta, and also the updated version of Cydia. Version 2.0.2 will be able to offer you an unlocked and jailbroken original iPhone and also jailbreak your iPhone 3G. Currently there is not a software unlocking method available for the iPhone 3G.
While its a pretty painless process assuming you can follow the directions, I would as always just mention that you should proceed with caution, and don’t complain to me should you end up bricking your phone. On that note, I have already run it on my original iPhone running firmware 2.0.1 and all went well for me.
