QuickPwn; making iPhone jailbreaking quicker, easier

The unofficial iPhone DevTeam has just released another jailbreaking tool, one that should make the process a little quicker and easier. The new tool is called QuickPwn and it will allow users to jailbreak their iPhone without having to create a full IPSW and do a full restore within iTunes.

Of course this initial release does have some limitations, it is currently just available as a beta, and is for Windows users only, however the DevTeam has promised a version for other platforms in the future.

In addition to being Windows only, QuickPwn will currently only work with an iPhone running firmware 2.0.1, and as of current it does not have a nice fancy user interface, which once again was promised to be coming in a later version.

Keep in mind, although it seems to be missing a lot at this point, its still just in beta, however the DevTeam does consider it safe to use, stating that QuickPwn “only deals with the S5L (application processor) side of the device, so it’s impossible for this to permanently damage your device.”

Its also important to point out that the team does not intend to offer this as a replacement to their current PwnageTool, but just as a “complement” to it, of course if you were just looking to jailbreak then QuickPwn would seem to be the way to go.

If this is safer then should we restore our phones and rejailbreak them with this tool?

Even though I love my iPhone, I find it extreamly funny that this jail break is only available ala windows and not mac. Once again another reason I own a pc. Microsoft should be all over this with a spoof pc comercial!! Ha! Take that jobsy… =) LOL
