Looking to get some quick cash for your original iPhone, how about giving FreeiPhoneSwap.com a shot. I should mention that I do have some hesitation about mentioning this service because I have not used it personally, however Sam (an owner) was recently interviewed on the Today in iPhone podcast and it made me feel a little more comfortable.

Basically the service seems simple enough and can be completed in just two steps. First send in your iPhone with the charger and second wait to get your money. According to the pricing on the website, “even if your phone is in used condition” they will give you $350, $250 or $150 for a 16GB, 8GB, or 4GB iPhone respectively. One small catch is that the charger must be included or they will deduct $25 from that price.

Then, once they receive your phone, they will process it and either send your money via check by regular mail or by PayPal, all within two business days.

While eBay or Craigslist may be yielding higher prices for used, especially unlocked models, this is a quick and easy way for those that just do not want to be bothered handling the sale. If you have any questions or concerns they do offer both an email (info@freeiphoneswap.com) and a toll-free number (877-889-7779) available.

I would also love to hear back if anyone has used this service personally, its always nice to hear first hand reports, if nothing else it would make others feel a little more comfortable.

This sounds very similar to gazelle.com, which is for all cell phones as well as other electronic gadgets. They only offer $165 for an 8GB iPhone in excellent condition, though.

I used this service in early August. I bought an iPhone 3g and no longer wanted my old iPhone. I filled out the form online and the next day I recieved an email with a tracking label. I simply printed it and attached it to the box with the phone and charger. A few days later I recieved a regular envelope with a check for
$250. I would recomend this website to anyonw who wants a hassle free way to get quick money for their old phone.

I want to see them offer a “3g iphone” for your old one. Say if you have a 16gb you get a 8gb 3g iphone and if you had a 4gb iphone you give them some cha ching plus the iphone swap. What?do you say?
