3 UK hoping to offer the iPhone 3G in the future

It looks like another UK based carrier has set their sights on offering the iPhone 3G. The latest is 3 UK, and according to CEO Kevin Russell they are “very interested in the iPhone” because it will “fill a gap in the company’s portfolio.”

Russell has also stated that he is “not sure that we have done enough to own the content space,” and they are also open to other options other than the iPhone. He went on to explain that if another gaming or music service would come available from “Nokia or someone else” that they would “need to be open to that.”

Basically its good to hear that they are not dead set on the iPhone, because currently their ability to offer it depends on the exclusivity deal that is already in place with O2.

I sure hope they do start to offer it on the Three network, I’d love an iPhone but I refuse to use O2 again and I’m to cheap to buy it off contract to unlock it :-)
