WIth all this fuss about the new iPod Nano and the revamped iPod Touch, it would seem as if Apple’s new in-ear headphones have been overlooked!
Unlike their first set of in-ear headphones, Apple has decided to incorporate both the subwoofer and the tweeter to provide users with the best audio quality.
“Each earpiece contains two separate high-performance drivers — a woofer and a tweeter — resulting in rich, detailed, and accurate sound reproduction and amazing bass response for all types of music.”
I myself am a Bose in-ear headphone user and love them to death, unfortunately I have not had any ear-time with Apple’s in-ear headphones.
Apple has decided to incorporate both a microphone and remote to the cord of the headphones, unfortunately it may be the cases">case that these features only work with the iPods released earlier today (Nano & Touch.) iPhone you ask? Maybe, we’ll just have to wait and see! (Sorry, I’m starting to sound like a broken record.)
I must say, the $79 price-tag is incredibly appealing to someone like me who doesn’t want to pay an inordinate sum of money for decent sound quality.
Much like the Bose in-ear headphones, Apple’s in-ear headphones come with 3 choices of silicon tips (small, medium, and large.)
These headphones cannot be ordered yet, as their status on the online Apple Store is “Coming Soon.” I’m pretty sure that they’ll go on sale within a week or two.

The remote and mic are supported only by iPod nano (4th generation), iPod classic (120GB), and iPod touch (2nd generation). Audio is supported by all iPod models.

My iPhone is the first iPod product I’ve owned so forgive me for being out of the loop, but why is a microphone needed on an iPod?

The new Nano comes with a voice recorder. It doesn’t have a built-in mic, so the only way to record is with the new headphones.

You would think it should support the iPhone as well. Im sure Apple will soon ad the iPhone as a compatible device.

I hope so. The volume controls on the headphones is really the only thing missing from the stock iPhone headphones.

The new headphones work with the iPhone, but they won’t say it completely compatible because the Volume Buttons don’t work… yet.
The Play/Pause and the Mic work fine (and the quality should be amazing)

I saw the apple insider article and took a look at them on the online store. I talked to a apple store rep through the chat support and he said that the new in ear head phone do work with the iPhone.

I bought the exact same model in-ear headphones in a different but similar box at WalMart in Puerto Vallarta Mexico about three months ago. I paid about $35usd and I can say, without a doubt, they are terrific. The sound quality is wonderful. Highly recommend them. They are made in China just like the iPhone. I wish I had bought several, for friends.

It’s November 10th, 2008 and no word as to whether or not the new in-ear headphones are ready to be purchased. Looks like we can expect them sometime next year .

Seriously, this is ridiculous, I was going to purchase the stereo headset just so I’d be able to skip songs on my ipod touch(2g), but then I read about these, and am now waiting for these to release.
