Earlier today in his Keynote Address, Steve Jobs announced that Apple is no longer selling the “thick” iPod Classic (120GB) due to a lack of consumer demand.
Jobs then announced that Apple has upgraded the “thin” iPod Classic, which was originally 80GB, to 120GB, without a change in the $249 price-tag.
This means that you can now buy a 120GB iPod Classic from the Apple Store for only $249. I remember back when it cost at least $300 to get a decent iPod, look at how far we’ve come!
Apple is one of the few companies I know of who prioritizes the needs of its customers so highly would do something like this for its customers. It’s always great to see a company as large and powerful as Apple, willing to give us that 40 extra gigabytes at no cost; not because they have to, but because they can. It’s the little things that count!
