Some good news coming from the iphone-dev team as of late, and before you get super excited they still have not managed to get the iPhone 3G unlocked, but that aside things are looking good in regards to the upcoming firmware 2.2.
According to the dev team, the first beta of firmware 2.2 is still “vulnerable to pwnage and quickpwn.” The only device that they are not currently able to offer a jailbreak for is the 2nd gen iPod Touch, but hopefully that will soon change.
Additionally it looks like we can also expect the 2nd beta of firmware 2.2 to come sometime around the 30th of November as that is when the current beta is set to expire.
Finally, in regards to the iPhone 3G unlock, the dev team stated that they are “making slow advances” and that compared with the timeline for the original iPhone this is still a new challenge. Hopefully they can reach that stage sooner than later, but either way their hard work has been very appreciated, I love my jailbroken iPhone and hate the thought of going back and having to lose some of my favorite apps.

I agree with you no matter when or even IF the Dev Team unlocks the 3G we all have to be extremely grateful for all the hard work and great apps they supply us FREE on a daily basis, In the long run I think Apple should be also grateful to the Dev Team because without them I don’t think the iPhone would be half as popular? Just my opinion and I for one become extremely bored once I have seen and done all that a cell phone has to offer, With a jailbroken phone you never know what the next day will bring! THANKS DEV TEAM.

good call. I just recently jailbroken my phone and i have enjoyed personalizing it. When can we get the SNES emulator though?

Help Needed (URGENTLY)
I have upgrade my 2g iphone from 1.1.1 to 2.1 version using QuickPwn & Pwnage Tool to jailbreak firmware 2.1. It works successfully. But my WIFI icon does not activate and it state “No Wifi”. Can any buddies out there help to solve this problem i m facing.
